REIGNING IN LIFE THROUGH CHRIST

Welcome, It is another moment of awesomeness on this blog.

By the help of the Holy Spirit, the topic we are considering today is REIGNING IN LIFE THROUGH CHRIST.

What does it mean to reign? It simply means to dominate, rule or exercise sovereignty. It is used, mostly, with respect to a kingdom – kingly rule.

We are in a world where the reign belongs to the kingdom of darkness. The devil is so much maximizing his short time, greatly expanding his kingdom in the heart of men of disobedience. 2 Cor. 4:4.

“But glory to Christ our Lord who translated us from the kingdom of darkness, by his precious blood that was shed for the remission of our sins, into His glorious and marvellous light. Col. 1:13.”

Therefore, believers are no longer under the dominion (kingdom) of the devil or darkness, just because of Jesus and His sacrificial redemption.

The devil is the one reigning in the kingdom of darkness (where we were) but in this new kingdom (kingdom of Christ), those that have been called out will reign through the one that saved them. Eph. 1:21-23, Col. 2:15. But the devil is smart and cunning. He still puts many in the bondage they were by polluting and engaging their minds to believe what is untrue. He does not want believers to be free indeed, hence his constant deceit.

Paul, by the spirit of God, gave how and through Whom we can reign in life.

“Romans 5:17 (NKJV) For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.”

There is an awesome truth to the secret of reigning in life. To reign in life, one must receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness. The previous verses before verse 17 of that book of Romans above explain how by one man’s offense, everyone received condemnation and death. In contrast, Jesus’ sacrifice made a way and gave us a beautiful exchange – death and condemnation for grace and righteousness. This is the solution – the only way one can reign in life. It’s unfortunate many believers still have not gotten this light of the gospel and the devil keeps robbing them off their joy and benefits in Christ.

We are made to know what to do to reign in life. Romans 5:17 emphasizes receiving Christ’s priceless and unmatched provision to reign. Christ Jesus did all we could not do by ourselves. He paid the price to bring us out of the dominion of Satan and gave us the victory which is now our reality.

All He demands is receiving that which He has done and provided. But the devil still deceives many that they need to achieve the standard to reign. If that is true, why then did Christ have to die? To reign in life is about receiving, not about achieving. The systems of the world always tell us to achieve something to be appreciated or recognized. But Christ’s way is you receiving everything he’s achieved on your behalf. To reign in life through Christ is about receiving and not achieving. His precious blood paid the price.

Now, to reign in life, you would need to receive in abundance these two gifts; Grace and Righteousness.

GRACE

Grace is not a “thing”. No, it is not a substance. Grace is not what you can measure. Grace is Christ. Christ is grace manifested and revealed. When you know Christ indeed, you will understand grace. The very depth of God’s love hidden and unknown throughout the ages was manifested unto men in Christ Jesus as grace. And this is very fundamental to reigning in life, knowing that you have a father who loves and cares for you much more than you can ever imagine. A king will succeed well in a town where he knows and feels he is being loved. God loves you so dearly. The devil does not want you to know this. Some people know they are loved but refuse to accept and receive it, and it is those who receive abundance of grace that will reign in life through Christ. Receiving abundance of grace is receiving Christ Jesus and trusting him.

Christ has provided everything you will ever need to reign in life. Just embrace Him and His loving grace and see how you will reign as king, in every affair of life.

RIGHTEOUSNESS

Another important gift you have to receive in abundance, in order to reign in life, is the gift of righteousness, for Christ was made sin so that you can become the righteousness of God in Christ. See, the devil is ever ready to condemn you of every of your actions. When you fall short of God’s standard, he says look at you, and you call yourself a Christian, you are an hypocrite, shame on you. And when you try your best to keep the standard, he yells at you yet again, is that the best you can do? Is that how your peers do? Do you think you deserve a crown with this effort? He brings condemnation. It doesn’t matter what you do. It doesn’t matter how hard you try.

Condemnation is the greatest strategy the devil uses to deprive believers of their beautiful reign in life. He reminds you how undeserving you are. Many believers refuse to move forward in life because they are judged and condemned of their past and can not just think through the future. They keep being defeated every minute and the devil has made them lost their sense of dominion to reign in life. The only way to reign in life is to come out of condemnation and receive in abundance the gift of righteousness. You need to know and accept that you are God’s righteousness in Christ and every time the devil brings his condemnation, you tell him to get lost and you stand on your feet, undefeated by the devil’ s schemes and move on with life in Christ. You should know that you have a good and loving father. Therefore, forgive yourself because your father has forgiven you. Don’t allow condemnation from the devil. Draw near to God, He’s ever willing to have you back. Do not give room for self-condemnation. There’s no way you can reign where or when you’re being judged or condemned. That’s the devil’s way to rob you of your dominion through Christ.

Brethren, receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness today and reign beautifully in Christ. You are destined to reign in life in Christ and through Christ. Receive of Christ. Kings don’t struggle, stop trying to achieve. The key to reign effortlessly in Christ Jesus is by receiving of Him the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness.

Hope this blessed you? Kindly share with friends and family. You can as well ask questions if you have any, and don’t forget to join us on Thursday for another time of blessing. Thank you and God bless you.
